PURPOSE:
To award two housing rehabilitation contract awards for the HOME Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids from qualified housing
rehabilitation contractors participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation Program. Sealed bids
were received from participating contractors on May 1, 1997 and opened on the same day. Two
bids were received. The informal bidding process is governed by the North Carolina General Statues
§ 143-131 and does not require a minimum number of bids. Bid results are attached.
Present program procedures provide that housing rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest
responsible bidder. The lowest responsible bidder for the both dwellings is Taylor Home
Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION(S):
The Manager recommends awarding the following housing rehabilitation contracts:
