PURPOSE: To receive a report on development of the Hillsborough Reservoir project.

Final Mitigation Plan for 401/404 Permits submitted March 4, 1997. Construction Plans &Specifications 90%
complete,out to Dam Safety in April. Construction Estimated to Begin Oct.1997 and be Complete by Nov. 1998.
Seven of thirty properties purchased. 30-Day Notice Sent February 27, 1997 to Property Owners.
The area around the reservoir was zoned by Orange County as "Upper Eno Critical Area" (1/1/94)which
allows up to 1 dwelling unit per 2 acres and up to 6% impervious surface limit. New Structures and Septic Tanks shall
be located at least 150 feet from a reservoir. Nitrification lines shall be located at least 300 feet from a reservoir. Certain
smaller parcels existing prior to 1/1/94 may be exempt from certain requirements,see Orange County Planning
Department.
The Town Purchase Line is a minimum of 100 feet away from the Phase II reservoir pool and encompasses the
100 Year Flood Elevation. A fence is not planned to be placed around the reservoir.
- Recreation is not allowed on the proposed reservoir at this time. A petition to the State of North Carolina is
required to obtain approval for any form of recreation to be allowed.
