SIFY 1996-97 Rural General-Public Transportation Program
Certified Statement
Pursuant to Article 23 of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina General Statutes which desigriatcs
the Departmcnt of Transportation as the agency of the state of North Carolina responsible for
administering all federal and/or state programs relating to public transportation, and grants the
department authority to do all things required under applicable federal and/or state legislation to
properly administer the public transportation programs within the state of North Carolina, this is
to ccrtify that the undersigned is the duty-ele(led, qualified and acting chairperson of the

North Carolina, and that the following statements are true and correct.
1. Funds received will be used to provide rural, general-public transportation services for SFY 1996-97.
2. Rinds will be used in a manner consistent with the local General Public Services Plan.
3. Iritcrost dividends earned on these funds will be expended in accordance with program guidelines.
4. Information about use of the funds will be provided at such time and in such manner as the
departinem may require.
