PURPOSE: To consider making new appointments to the Orange County Board of
Adjustment.
BACKGROUND: There are two vacancies (Position #5 and Position #6) on the Board of
Adjustment. The new appointees will be serving first full terms ending 06/30/2015.
Appointment for Position #7 (Planning Board Representative) will be on the June 18, 2013
agenda. Planning Board meets June 5 th
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making new appointments to the Orange County Board of
Adjustment.

Though I currently live within the Chapel Hill city limits, I would make an excellent At-
Large" member of the board because I grew up in a very rural area of the state (Swain
County), so I identify strongly with my neighbors who live in the more rural areas of
Orange County. I submitted an application for these boards a couple of years ago, so
just wanted to update my application and remind the Board of my interest. Also, though
currently reside in the Chapel Hill township, my husband and I now own 6 acres outside
