The Board met at the usual hour in the Commissioners' Room at the Court-
house. Present: Collier Cobb, Jr., Chairman, Ben F. ililson and H. G. Laws,
Commissioners.
Mr. B. L. Miller presented a road petition requesting the State Highway &
Public Works Commission to build a now road, beginning near IPew Bethel Church
on Highway Ho, 57, and connecting with the State maintained road at J. K. Laws'
place. Length of road, 2 miles. The Petition was ordered to be held for in-
vestigation.
Mrs. Kathryn Hamrick, Home Demonstration Agent, appeared and stated that
her
department had been very busy
during the month holding a variety of meet-
ings over the county and that
she spent one
week in Raleigh, attending the
annual conference.
Fir. Simpson L. Efland, Chairman,
Torn
Council, Efland, il. C., appeared
and
presented uetitions for hardsurfacing
approximately 16 miles of roads in
and
around Efland, which he described
as follows:
1 -a - Efland -Ridge Road
1 -b - Efland Community Road
1 -c - High Rock Road.
Mr,
Efland requested that the
Board approve
these petitions immediately so
they could be presented to the
State Highway
& Public 110'rks Commission for
their consideration.
The Board informed Ur. Efland
that they were contemplating a number of
such
petitions.from different
sections of
the County, and they did not think
it would be fair to other sections
to approve
his petition until they had.
the
rhole before them.
They assured
Mr. Efland that whon the requests

from other sections veers in their
hands, his
notition would receive careful
consideration, along with the
others.
Upon motion of Commissioner
Laws, duly
seconded by Commissioner Wilson,
it vies ordered that C. B. Pone
be paid ;:15.00
for 3 sheen killed by dogs.
