NORTH CAROLINA
RESOLUTION .REGARDING
ORANGE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE MATTERS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Orange County that the Board hereby requests the Senators and
Representatives representing Orange County to introduce and
support the .following legislative matters :
1 . AN ACT AMENDING NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTE § 153A-
136 (REGULATION OF SOLID WASTES) TO AUTHORIZE COUNTIES TO
REGULATE BY ORDINANCE OPEN BURNING (Exhibit A to this
Resolution) ;.
2 . AN ACT AMENDING ARTICLE 9B OF CHAPTER 44 OF THE NORTH
CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTES TO ADD ORANGE COUNTY TO THE COUNTIES
TO WHICH ARTICLE 9B OF CHAPTER 44 APPLIES, WHICH COUNTIES ARE
AUTHORIZED TO USE ATTACHMENT AND GARNISHMENT PROCEEDINGS TO
COLLECT CHARGES FOR AMBULANCE SERVICES (Exhibit B to this
Resolution) ;
3 . AN ACT TO ELIMINATE ROLLBACK OF DEFERRED TAXES WHEN
USE VALUE PROPERTY IS TRANSFERRED BETWEEN FARMERS, WITHOUT
EXTINGUISHING THE LIEN FOR THE DEFERRED TAXES (Exhibit C to this
Resolution) ;
Upon motion of Commissioner seconded by
Commissioner HAT,T<TnTT$ , the foregoing resolution was adopted
this the 16th day of May, 2000 .
