way Patrol office, present, Collier Cobb, Jr. Chairman, Ben F. 19ilson and
Hubert G. Laws, Commissioners.
This meeting was held as a Board of Equalization and Review to hear any
complaints of property owners as to their assessments.
There were a few complaints brought to the attention of the Board during
the morning session, after which the Board spent the remainder of the day
investigating road petitions.
The following petitions were approved and ordered sent to the State
Highway & Public Yorks Commission for their consideration:
Road at Efland, N. C. running from the railroad via. colored elementary
school to Highway No. 70.
Seven- tenths of a mile of the In mile road in Cedar Grove Township
running through the farms of Poteat and others.
Road in Cedar Grove Township, running from Whits Oak Colored Church in
a Biesterly direction to the Yebane Road, a distance of 2�, miles.
Dr. 0. D. Garvin and Sheriff S. T. Latta appeared before the Board and
discussed the enforcement of the State Law pertaining to dog vaccination for
rabies in the County. It was estimated that the necessary advertising prior
to and during the vaccination period in four weekly newspapers would cost
approximately Three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00). The Board approved
the payment of this amount from the emergency appropriation in the General
Fund.
There being no further business, upon motion, adjourned.
