Oliver, Town Clerk SUBJECT: Appointment to the Orange County Economic Development Commission DATE: May 7, 2007 The purpose of this report is for the Council to appoint a Council representative to the Orange County Economic Development Commission. On April 27, 2006 Keith Cook, chair of the Orange County Economic Development Commission, requested that the Council consider appointing a Council member in addition to its current Chapel Hill representative. Mayor pro tern Strom has expressed an interest in filling this position. RECOMMENDATION That the Council adopt the attached resolution appointing a Council member to serve on the Orange County Economic Development Commission. ATTACHMENTS 1. Orange County Economic Development Commission letter dated April 27, 2006 (p. 3). A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A COUNCIL MEMBER TO SERVE ON THE ORANGE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (2007- 05- 07/R -17) WHEREAS, the Orange County Economic Development Commission has requested that in addition to the current Chapel Hill representative, a Council member be appointed to the Orange County Economic Development Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council appoints Mayor pro tem Bill Strom to- serve on the Orange County Economic Development Commission.
