Dear Commissioners,
At the Board's October 16, 2012 regular meeting, Commissioner Jacobs brought forth
a petition and it was reviewed by the ChairNice Chair/Manager at agenda review:
1) To request that the Board take a more active role in making more formal
recognitions at Board meetings and honoring local residents and their
contributions and successes to the community.
After review of this petition, the ChairNice Chair/Manager provided the following
direction:
1) Since it is too difficult to set out criteria for the various recognitions that
may be brought forward, and since many individuals that have been
brought forth in the past have already been recognized in their area of
expertise, it is suggested that Board members use their Board comment
time period to recognize, personally, individuals/businesses that they think
have made a significant contribution to our community or to formally
announce a recognition that may already have occurred.
This letter will be provided as an Information Item on the November 20, 2012
agenda for public information.
