Dear Commissioners,
At the Board's October 16, 2012 regular meeting, Commissioner Gordon brought forth a
petition and it was reviewed by the ChairNice Chair/Manager at agenda review:
1) To ask the Chair to write a thank you letter to UNC Chancellor Thorpe, on behalf of the
Board of Commissioners, commending and thanking UNC for allocating 107 acres to the
N.C. Botanical Garden's Mason Farm Biological Reserve.
After review of this petition, the Chair/Vice Chair/Manager provided the following direction:
1) The BOCC Chair would write a letter to Chancellor Thorpe on behalf of the Board of
Commissioners, commending and thanking UNC for allocating 107 acres to the N.C.
Botanical Garden's Mason Farm Biological Reserve.
This letter will be provided as an Information Item on the November 20, 2012 agenda
for public information.
