Dear Commissioners,
At the Board's August 21, 2012 regular meeting, Commissioner McKee brought forth a
petition and it was reviewed by the ChairNice Chair/Manager at agenda review:
1) Review and consider a request that the Board take action to formally recognize the
volunteer fire departments for their services to Orange County and its residents.
After review of this petition, the Chair/Vice Chair/Manager decided:
1) That the Commissioners will verbally recognize the volunteer fire departments at
their joint meeting on October 4th for their reduced ISO ratings; and will formally
recognize, by proclamation, the volunteer fire departments and also include county-
wide emergency service workers, who provide an invaluable service to all Orange
County residents, at the BOCC regular meeting on October 16th
This letter will be provided as an Information Item on the September 18, 2012 agenda
for public information.
