We have been requested to change several MH Covers from the approved design that we had
already purchased and installed,to a different MH cover. We are requesting$100.04 each to
change the MH covers from the approved design to the new design,to cover the cost of Swapping,
them out and the freight associated with the swapping of the covers.

Re.Sanitary Sewer Improvements for Orange County,NC Buckhorn Area—North of I-85 and
Efland Community(Sewer Service Rock Bore at MH 12)

As discussed in previous communications,we were not able to install the sewer service at MH 12
by traditional means due to their being rock. We have attempted over the last two days to free
bore the service using a rock head and have been unsuccessful at completing the bare on grade.
We are therefore,going to have to install the bore with 8"casing using a rock head to complete
the service. We are requesting a change order for$390.00 per foot to install the 8"casing
through rock with a 4"sewer service carrier pipe inside. We anticipate the bore to be
approximately 40 LF.
Please advise,of any additional information we may provide or of any questions you may have.

Dear Mr. Stike:
McGill Associates is in receipt of your letter dated February 8, 2011 (sic) requesting a
change in the unit price per foot to install a sewer service. The Contract Documents allow the
Contractor to request a change in the unit pricing if he encounters conditions other and soils for
the installing of sewer services. We agree that JF Wilkerson encountered rock while installing
the service as noted in your letter. However, we do not agree to the price recommended. Based
on our experience and pricing on other projects for similar work, we can recommend to the
Owner a change in unit price for this installation of$200.00 per foot for the length of the service,
approximately 40 linear feet.
We appreciate JF Wilkerson's continued efforts in the construction of the Buckhorn-Efland
Sewers project and look forward to the completion of a successful project. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact us.

Dear Mr.Wightman:
On Friday May 4,2012 we were installing the sanitary sewer line and found the septic tank for
the puritan club to he to direct conflict with the gravity sewer we were installing. We had to stag
installing pipe and wait for representatives from Grange County to come look at the problem. We
then had to wait--for the tank to be pumped out on Monday and Tuesday May 7 and May 8. On
Wednesday May 9,2012 we were able to crash the tank,so that we could start back installation
on Thursday May 9,2012. We are requesting a change order for 3 days for th a down time and
removal of the tank.at$3,500 per day for a total change order of$1 0,500.00,

RE: Response to Ruritan Club Septic Tank Delay
Buckhorn/Efland Sewers
Orange County,North Carolina
Dear Mr. Stike:
McGill Associates is in receipt of your letter dated May 15, 2012 requesting compensation
due to the delay caused by the discovery of the Ruritan Club septic tank that was in direct conflict
with the sewer line installation. Article 12 of the General Conditions of the Contract Documents
allows the Contractor the right to make the claim as you have in your letter. We agree that JF
Wilkerson encountered such a delay and is due a time extension and compensation. However, we do
not agree with the dollar amount requested.
This determination arises from the fact that for two (2) days JF Wilkerson's crew was not
able to perform any work and one(1)day was required to demolish the septic tank. For those two(2)
days where the crew and equipment was idle, no fuel would have been used by the equipment. We
recognize that fuel would have been used to crush the tank on the third day end for the vehicles to
transport the crew to the project all three(3)days.
Therefore, after removing the fuel cost for the equipment for two (2) clays and recalculating
the costs per the supporting documentation, we can recommend to the Owner a change in Contract
Times of three(3)days and a change in Contract Amount of$9,732.22. We respectfully request that
JF Wilkerson formally respond to this letter with your acceptance so that a Change Order can be
processed.
We appreciate JF Wilkerson's continued efforts in the construction of the Buckhorn-Efland
Sewers project and look forward to the completion of a successful project. If you have any
questions,please do not hesitate to contact us.
