BACKGROUND: Orange Person Chatham Mental Health, Developmental Disability and Substance Abuse Authority and the OPC Area Board will be dissolved on June 30, 2012. Three counties (Orange, Person, & Chatham) will be consolidated with Alamance, Cabarrus, Davidson, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Rowan, Stanly, Union, Vance and Warren Counties to form a new fifteen county area mental health authority, which will be known as Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions. The fifteen counties will be divided into four catchment areas that mirror the current county partnership. Orange, Person and Chatham Counties will be covered by a local unit known as the OPC Community Operations Center.
