RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FOR JACKY PHILIPS
WHEREAS, since its formation in 1976, the Orange County Commission for Women has been a
tireless advocate for women and families, due in large part to the dedication and
energy of its volunteer members; and,
WHEREAS, since 1997, Jacky Philips has served the citizens of Orange County as a valued and
respected member and leader of the Orange County Commission for Women; and,
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Ms. Philips has served as chair of the Orange County
Commission for Women and has taken an invaluable leadership role in many of its
projects; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Philips has actively and enthusiastically supported and encouraged the
activities and endeavors of the members of the Orange County Commission for
Women during her distinguished tenure; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Philips has participated in other groups dedicated to improving and enhancing
the lives of women and families, such as the Family Violence Prevention Center;
and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Philips was instrumental in the formation of a tri- county commission to
enhance and improve communication and collaboration between the Orange County
Commission for Women and other area women's groups.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Orange County Board of County Commissioners
hereby expresses its appreciation to Jacky Philips on behalf of the Orange County
Commission for Women and all the citizens of Orange County for her tireless
dedication to improving the lives of women and families through her work with the
Orange County Commission for Women.
