My wife, Marianna Chambless, served a term on the Planning Board many years ago, so I am familiar with the activities of the Board. I am retiring within two months from my faculty position at UNC and will have much more time available for activities such as serving on the Board. I often wake up at night thinking about ways to improve the community, and I would like to direct those energies to participation in Planning Board activities.
