PURPOSE: To officially appoint Evelyn Cecil as acting Deputy County Clerk so that various
functions and duties can be pertormed in the absence of the Clerk to the Board while the
Deputy Clerk's position is vacant.
BACKGROUND: Whenever there is a court case involving a County ordinance, it is necessary
that certified copies of that particular ordinance be provided to the Judge, usually on the day of
the case. Also, very often documents must be signed right away. By approving the following _
resolution, Mrs. Cecil will be able to provide these documents in the absence of the Clerk as
well as perform other duties when the Clerk is not available.
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING EVELYN CECIL
AS
ACTING DEPUTY CLERK
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HEREBY RESOLVES that Evelyn Cecil is
hereby appointed as Acting Deputy County Clerk for the County of Orange. As Acting Deputy
Clerk, Mrs. Cecil shall be authorized to perform all the duties and fur~ctions of the County Clerk
~in the absence of the County Clerk.
This resolution shall .become effective upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION (S): Approve the resolution as stated above.
