ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING CLERK TO THE BOARD BEVERLY BLYTHE
AND DECLARING JUNE 24 THROUGH JUNE 30, 200Z AS
"BEVERLY BLYTHE WEEK" IN ORANGE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Beverly Blythe has senred as Clerk to the Orange County Board of Commissioners
for over 18 years and has recently announced her retirement as of July 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, In the years that Ms. Blythe has served as Cierk to the Board, she has proven to
be a valuable resource not only to members of the Board of Commissioners, but to the entire
Orange County community; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Blythe has been an exemplary pubiic servant for Orange County and, at
the same time, has volunteered her time in service to the community through her church, her
membership in community groups, and in various other capacities; and
WHEREAS, her leadership of the Hillsborough Farmers' Market is a prime example of her on-
going efforts to serve and improve the lives of the peopie of Orange County; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Blythe, as a"Certified Municipai Clerk"; has also set an example within her
profession by providing leadership and vision to the North Carolina Association of County
Clerks to the Boards of County.Commissioners, serving at one point as president of that
organization; and
WHEREAS, Beverly Blythe has been a persistent, articulate and intelligent voice for citizens
navigating the sometimes-confusing channels of government; and ~
WHEREAS, Beverly Blythe has made many contributions to the governrnent of Orange County,
her profession, and the people of Orange County;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Orange County Board of Commissioners,
do hereby express our deep and sincere appreciation to Beve~iy Blythe for her over 18 years of
service as Clerk to the Board for the Orange County Board of Commissioners and also express
our appreciation for her on-going service to the residents of Orange County;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we approve this resolution declaring June 24 through June
30, 2002 as
"BEVERLY BLYTHE WEEK" IN ORANGE COUNTY
