PURPOSE: To consider making appointments to the Orange County Nursing Home
Community Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND: The following appointments are for Board consideration:
• Appointment to a one year training term for Ms. Vickie Barringer. If appointed Ms.
Barringer will be serving a one year training term expiring 03/31/2013.
• Appointment to a first full term for Ms. Susan Deter. If appointed Ms. Deter will be
serving a first full term expiring 04/19/2015.

Dear Jeanette,
The Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee would like to recommend Ms Vicki Barringer for a one year training
term. Ms Barringer has a passion for senior living as well as a genuine love for older adults. She has past work
experience at several long term care communities as well as volunteer experience in both skilled nursing and assisted
living facilities. Ms Barringer has a strong interest in improving the quality of life for Orange County residents living in
long term care facilities and she would serve as a valuable advocate.
The Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee would also like to recommend Susan Deter for a first full term. Her
current one year appointment will be expiring on 4/19/12. During the past year Ms Deter attended 3 out of 5 business
meetings and has actively participated in all of her assigned quarterly facility visitations. Her observational,
advocacy, and communication skills have been invaluable to the work of this committee.
