Dear Ms. Sprigg:
On behalf of the Board of Counfy Commissioners, I want to thank the Carol Woods Community,
and this includes the Charitable Fund Board as well as your full Board of Directors, for your generous donafion
of$175,400 in December to Orange County in view of the exemption of Carol Woods from property taxes.
We are very fortunate to have such good neighbors as the Carol Woods Community and we look forward to
your continued interest in meeting the needs of our elderly residents in Orange County.
For years the Carol Woodscommunify has made significant and repeated contributions to the
betterment of Orange Couhty, not only in those areas of special concern to our growing senior population, but
in many other areas such as the thousands of volunteer hours yearly to a wide variety of Chapel Hill
organizations. We undersfand that this pledge shal not be construed as an amount to anticipate in future
years, and we appreciate your gift in order to assist in our budgetary process.
I enjoyed speaking recent(y at your resident's meeting and hope that this will be an annual invitation to
the Commissioners so that we can you let you know how your contribution helped Orange County.
Again, thank you again on behalf of the residents of Orange Counfiy for your continued generosity.
Sincerely, _ . I
