PURPOSE: To consider changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar for
years 2011 and 2012.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule by:
2011 Meeting Calendar
Adding a Work Session on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 7:OOpm at the Southern Human
Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, for the purpose of discussing transit
issues.
2012 Meeting Calendar
• Changing the meeting time of the Orange County Legislative Breakfast meeting on April 16,
2012 from 8:OOam to 8:30am (location TBD)
Changing the location of the Board of Commissioners' regular meeting (and organizational
meeting) currently scheduled for Monday, December 3, 2012 FROM the DSS Offices, 113
Mayo Street, TO the Central Orange Senior Center (Adjoining Triangle SportsPlex), 103
Meadowlands Drive, Hillsborough, N.C.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: In order to insure that the sound quality is adequate at the December 3,
2012 meeting, AMS will need to engage the services of Custom Light and Sound at a cost of
approximately $500 (delivery, set-up and management of rental sound equipment).

RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its regular meeting
calendars for 2011 and 2012 by:
