PURPOSE: To consider final approval of the regular meeting schedule for the Board of County
Commissioners for calendar year 2012.
BACKGROUND: In accordance with 143.318.12 of the General Statutes, a schedule of regular
meetings shall be filed with the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. The schedule
must show the date, time and place of each meeting.
All meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Not applicable
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the final
schedule of regular meetings for the year 2012.

The following changes have been added to the draft calendar:
• Moved the March 8 regular meeting to Tuesday the 13t"; the
13t" work session to Thursday 15t" and then the next regular
meeting from Tuesday, March 20 to Thursday, March 22nd
March 8t" first day of ACC Tournament)
• Removed (per Clarence Grier) March 22 as a budget work
session
• April 16t" -Changed the April 2 Legislative Breakfast to April 16
(April 2nd is the day of the NCAA title game in men's basketball)
• May 3~d -Changed from a budget work session to a regular
work session for an Automated Agenda presentation
• October 25~' - changed a budget work session to a regular
work session -night meeting
• Assembly of Governments meeting -moved from October
30t" to December 6t" - as a meeting (not a mixer)
• March 1 and June 14t" are now night meetings (changed
suggested day meetings to night meetings)
• March 27t" -Scheduled both the Clerk and the County
Attorney's annual evaluations on the same evening at 7:OOpm
(would eliminate a dinner meeting on May 24t" -but would still
schedule the 7:OOpm budget work session)
• March 29t" - Added a JPA meeting to the annual meeting of
BOCC/Chapel Hill -and have invited Carrboro to attend the
JPA portion of the meeting only.
