BACKGROUND: Orange County Board of Commissioners' Chair. Bernadette Pelissier was contacted by and met with the Consul General of Mexico, Carlos Flores Vizcarra, who is meeting with various local governing bodies in reference to making a presentation about consular services in North Carolina and, in particular, the Consular I.D., which is the most widely expedited document by the Consulate. The Consul General will provide a presentation to the Board. The Consulate of Mexico is the diplomatic body of Mexico for North and South Carolina that provides numerous services to Mexican Nationals living within the circumscription. Services provided by the Consulate include: documentation, legal aid, repatriation of remains, health resources, educational initiatives and cultural projects. During our meeting with- the Board of Commissioners, we would like to discuss consular services and make a presentation about the Consular I.D., the most widely expedited document by our Consulate. As mentioned above, the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 7:OOpm at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, in Chapel Hill.
