RESOLUTION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, the Orange County Comprehensive Plan was originally
adopted in 1981 with subsequent amendments thereafter; and
WHEREAS, many demographic socio-economic and environmental
conditions have changed over the past two decades; and
WHEREAS, the 1981 Orange County Comprehensive Plan is in need of
an update to address a variety of planning and public administration challenges
in this high growth area; and
WHEREAS, due fo the multi-faceted nature of planning issues, the
formation of a Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee of exisfing
representatives from standing committees be formed to assist the county in
reviewing growth strategies; and
WHEREAS, after presentafion of various growth alternatives to the
Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee public outreach to Iocationally
based interest groups (i.e. rural areas, urban-rural transition areas, efc.) should
be conducted prior to formal public hearings; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Board of County
Commissioners to form the Comprehensive Planning Land Use Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE /T RESOLVED:
Section 7 that the Comprehensive .Planning Land Use Committee be formed
from the Board of County Commissioners appointees of the existing boards and
commissions as follows:
Board of County Commissioners (2 members)
Planning Board (1 member)
Economic Development Commission (1 member)
Board of 1~ealth and Environmental Health (1 member)
Agriculture Preservation (1 member)
Commission for Environment (1 member)
Water Resource Committee (1 member)

and duly seconded by Commissioner the foregoing
Ordinance was duly adopted by the Orange County Commissioners at a meeting
held on the day of , 2002.
