PURPOSE: To consider making one reappointment to the Carrboro NTA (Northern Transition
Area) Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND: The first term of Chair Jay Bryan, a BOCC representative for the Northern
Transition Area of Carrboro, expired January 31, 2003. He has requested, and is eligible for,
reappointment.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None
RECOMMENDATIONS}: Consider appointing -Jay Bryan to a second term! which-will-expire
January 31, 2006, on the Carrboro NTA Advisory Committee.

Description: The~Committee will review zoning amendment requests, special and conditional use permit applications for developments within the Northern Transition Area of Carrboro;
make recommendations on the same to the Carrboro Board of Adjustment or Carrboro Board of Aldermen; inventory areas of cultural, archaeological, historical significance;
areas of open space, rural character, scenic qualities and biological values; areas of agricultural uses; and make recommendations based on the above studies for additional
policies, goals, etc. that will preserve and enhance the special character of this area, and relate to its growth. The Committee will consist of five members, three appointed by

Sarah,
Jay's attendance record is 12 for 13 meetings. The one meeting he
missed, he was excused.. Also, two out of three of the members have
confirmed their approval of his appointment to the Horace Williams Tract
advisory committee. The other person, Chris Potter, has not yet
returned my calls/emails and I will inform you when he does. For what
it's worth, l'm quite confident he would approve of Jay's appointment.
