BACKGROUND: At its February 8, 2011 regular work session, the Board discussed possibly moving some meetings already scheduled far 2011 from night time meetings to day time meetings. Following discussion, the Board instructed staff to review the 2011 Board meeting calendar and to bring back a proposal for the Board to consider regarding rescheduling same Board work sessions from the night time to day time. Staff has reviewed the calendar, conferred with Board members on potential work sessions for possible rescheduling, and recommends that the work sessions scheduled for June 16, 2011 and Gctober 6, 2011 be rescheduled from night meetings to day time meetings. Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A~40, the Board of County Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in the Regular Meeting Schedule by: • Changing the time of the Board of Commissioners' vllork Session on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Link Government Services Center, 200 South Cameron Street, Hillsborough, N.C. • Changing the time of the Board of Commissioners' vllork Session on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, N.C. FINANCIAL IMPACT: NGNE 2 RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its regular meeting calendar for 2011 by: • Changing the t of the Board of Commissioners' Work Session, on Thursday, June 16, 2411 from 7:44 p.m. to 1:3D p.m. until 4.30 p.m. at the Link Government Services Center, 244 South Cameron Street, Hillsborough, N.C. • Changing the t me of the Board of Commissioners' Work Session, on Thursday, October 6, 2411 from 7:40 p.m. to 1;34 p.m. until 4:34 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, N.C.
