PURPOSE: To consider two changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar
for the year 2004.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. The Board of County Commissioners will consider amending
their regular meeting schedule by adding a Comprehensive Plan Land Use Update and BOCC
Guiding Principles work session on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 7:30 pm at Southern Human
Services Center and a dinner meeting with the Board of the Department of Social Services on
Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 5:30 pm in Room D at the Southern Human Services Center
(prior to the 7:30pm BOCC meeting).
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by adding a Comprehensive Plan Land Use Update and BOCC Guiding
Principles work session on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 7:30 pm at Southern Human Services
Center and a dinner meeting with the Board of the Department of Social Services on Tuesday,
October 19, 2004 at 5:30 pm in Room D at the Southern Human Services Center (prior to the
7:30pm BOCC meeting).
