Interim Economic Development Director
Objectives:
• Develop a standard policy to govern citizen advisory committees (CAC) and note exceptions
(areas to customize, e.g., scope, purpose).
• Outline a process for applying new standard policy and specific, customized policies.
• Share information about past, present, and future economic development efforts, both BOCC
and staff.
• Gain BOCC direction about how to organize and structure an Economic Development
Commission.

A. Examine how other counties in NC organize and structure their economic
development function and utilize their advisory boards
B. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of alternative ways of organizing
county economic development efforts
C. Revisit the purpose and makeup of the Orange County economic development
advisory board
