SUBJECT: Chan e in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule for 2010

PURPOSE: To consider one change in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar
for year 2010.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule by:
• Changing the location of the Board of Commissioners' regular meeting (and
organizational meeting) currently scheduled for Monday, December 6, 2010
FROM the DSS Offices, 113 Mayo Street, TO the Central Orange Senior Center
(Adjoining Triangle SportsPlex), 103 Meadowlands Drive, Hillsborough, N.C.
This proposed change is because DSS has on-going activities (Toy Chest) in the large meeting
room from December 1 -17 (toy distribution site).
FINANCIAL IMPACT: In order to insure that the sound quality is adequate, AMPS will need to
engage the services of Custom Light and Sound at a cost of approximately $500.00 (delivery,
set-up and management of rental sound equipment). This company was used for BOCC
meetings at Central Orange Senior Center from 11/2009 -2/2010.
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its regular meeting
calendar for 2010 by:
• Changing the location of the Board of Commissioners' regular meeting (and
organizational meeting) currently scheduled for Monday, December 6, 2010
