BACKGROUND: The Clerk's office has received a recommendation from the Orange County ABC Board for Mr. Thomas Heffner's appointment. If appointed, Mr. Heffner will be serving a full 3-year term effective 11/1/2010 and ending 6/30/2013. In Orange County, all members of the Orange County ABC Board are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The ABC Board operates the ABC system and has the authority to hire and dismiss employees. The ABC Board members are compensated as determined by the Board of Commissioners. There is one vacancy on the ABC Board. The Board of County Commissioners, as the ABC Board appointing authority, is also empowered to designate one of the ABC Board members as the chair of the ABC Board. The Clerk's office has received a recommendation from the Orange County ABC Board for Mr. Thomas Heffner's appointment.
