Re: Recommendation for Appointment to Vacant Veterinarian Position
Date: August 26, 2090
At its meeting on August 25, 2010 the Board considered the single
current applicant for the veterinarian vacancy on the Board of Health.
The Board is recommending that Board of Commissioners consider
appointing Dr. Susan Elmore to the Board of Health in this vacant
position. The veterinarian position is a legislatively mandated position.
Dr. Elmore would also serve as the liaison to the Animal Services
Advisory Board to assist both boards in the coordination of zoonotic
disease issues as they relate to the health of the public. This has been
very helpful in the past. An example was the development of
recommendations to the school districts on policy development
regarding contact with animals in school settings.
!t is our understanding that Dr. Elmore is currently searing on the Animal
Services Advisory Board and that she understands the linkage between
service on bath Boards.
Thank you far your consideration.

Other Comments:
I was on the forefront in quietly assisting the County with the vast purchase of the
Sportsplex by offering up heads up information to assure a smooth and reliable take over
Ethan Vance (the Sellor) by the County for the population for our Orange County
residents. I have some ideas that could increase the revenues cycle and we need to
make our county resident aware of the facility with perhaps a county wide campaign.
