Prior to his 2009 appointment, Mr. Rankin often attended HPC meetings as an interested member of the public. He has maintained a good attendance record (please see enclosure) since his formal appointment, is eligible to serve another term and has agreed to do so. Mr. Rankin's knowledge of architectural history and local history has contributed the HPC's ongoing work. His background in archaeology, in particular, has added another important layer of expertise to the HPC. Please convey this to the Board of Commissioners for their consideration in September, to prevent any gaps in our membership. The HPC will continue its recruitment efforts to bring in new candidates who meet the Certified Local Government criteria.
