RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TED ABERNATHY
WHEREAS, Ted Abernathyhas served as Director of the Orange County Economic
Development Commission for eight years; and
WHEREAS, Ted Abern$thyhas provided the Economic Development Commission with
exemplary staff leadership which has resulted in the following major accomplishments of
the Commission:
• the creation of a comprehensive database of all available commercial space in Orange County,
• the establishment of three Economic Development Districts,
• the creation of the annual State of the Local Economy Breakfast,
• the establishment of "Shop Orange First", a campaign to make citizens aware of the contribution
of sales tax revenue to Orange County;
• an updated Strategic Plan for Economic Development in Orange County, and
• the creation of the Visitor's Bureau; and
WHEREAS, Ted Abes~athyhas helped to support the location of several new businesses and
to guide many established businesses through expansion projects; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Orange County has welcomed over 10,000 new jobs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Baard of Commissioners
does hereby express its gratitude and appreciation to Ted Abernathyfor his years of service and
commitment to the citizens of Orange County.
