PURPOSE: To include some time for inspiration as part of our regular
meetings. Our meetings are filled with the processing of information
and knowledge. It would be refreshing to include a special time for
inspiration and discernment as part of the process.
BACKGROUND: A survey of the surrounding counties is attached. Looking
back at County records since December, 1936, this has never been a part
of the regular meeting except as requested by a County Commissioner for
a specific reason.
RECOMMENDATION::..Amend the HOCC Rules of Procedure Rule 11 to include the
Pledge of Alleg#ancsm"' and "Moment for Meditation" immediately following
the "Call to Ordi~"~ at the beginning of all regular meetings.
1) Moa~sit defined as ^sufficient length of time at Chair's
discretion
2) Meditation defined as: silent act of sacred and/or civil
contemplation
