PURPOSE: To consider approving a contract to retain Callemyn Parker, Inc. for
surveying work to be done at the Efland-Cheeks Community School Park site.
BACKGROUND: Updated and accurate surveys are required for the Efland-Cheeks ~
Community School Park in order to complete construction documents.
Callemyn Parker Inc. has quoted $5,000 for the following work:
• Conduct a control survey with boundary and topographic information; and
• Create a recordable plat of site showing existing tracts, all building footprints, and
surrounding visible improvements; and
• Create a topographical survey at 2 foot contours; and
• Present the information in CADD format (Autocadd R14); and
• Assist designers with data interpretation, work with the County's Planning
Department and supply follow up information.
Callemyn Parker, Inc. has performed other survey work at this site and maintains the
data in their computer system. Since this data is useful in creating the topo and
boundary survey required for this phase of the project, Callemyn Parker Inc. offers some
economy in the survey cost.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the use of
Callemyn Parker, Inc. pursuant to their March 23, 1998 proposal at a cost not to exceed
$5,000; and authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the appropriate paperwork.

After reviev^ling the p~ oposed site with you today, i am resubmitting a cost proposal for
surveying tx ie 20 acre tract of land at Efland Cheeks School. This cost proposal is based on
using the d~~ta shown on two previous surveys done by this office.
The cost of the survey is $5,000.00 and includes the following:
A. Control Survey with boundary and topographical information.
B. P.ecordable plat of site showing existing tracts and all building footprints
and surrounding visible improvements.
C. Topographical survey at 2 foot contours.
D. All above data to be supplied in CADD format (Autocadd R14).
E. Assistance with site designers interpreting data, working with Orange County
Planning Department and supplying additional follow up information .
This propc al does not include the following:
A. fees for any permits required by regulatory agencies.
B. Any additional survey work resulting from a boundary dispute of existing property
