PURPOSE: To approve a Contract between Orange County and the U S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for services to be performed during the FFY 99.
BACKGROUND: In October, 1996, the Boazd of Commissioners approved a
Cooperative Agreement between Orange County and HUD for athree-yeaz contract for
the county to receive capacity building funds to further develop its housing
discrimination investigation program. This contractual relation provides for HUD to pay
to the county $100,000.00 annually, renewable annually. This proposed agreement
would be the third and final installment of the original agreement for services
rendered in expanding the county's capacity to investigate jurisdictional housing
discrimination cases.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the
contract and authorize the Chair to sign the contract.
