RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION ~' r /~ _~l~

REIGSTER OF DEEDS JOYCE PEARSON
WHEREAS, Joyce Pearson has served the residents of Orange County for twenty-two
years with great distinction as Deputy Register of Deeds, Assistant to the Register of
Deeds, and Register of Deeds; and,
WHEREAS, in 1998, the voters of Orange County elected Joyce Pearson into office as
Register of Deeds, making her the second woman to hold this countywide elected office
in Orange County, and Ms. Pearson has proven herself to be a dedicated and effective
public servant who has gained the admiration and respect of all who have known her in
both the public and private sectors; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pearson was responsible for the implementation of the AMCAD
(AMERICAN CADASTRE, LLC) System, a system that provides images on the web and
faster and more effective service; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure with the Register of Deeds office, Joyce Pearson has
served on the Vital Records, Constitution/By-Laws and Resolutions Committees of the
North Carolina Association of Register of Deeds; and
WHEREAS, through her tireless service Ms. Pearson has demonstrated leadership,
wisdom, and community spirit -all tempered with common sense and an approachable
and open demeanor -thus enhancing County services and improving Orange County's
unique quality of life; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners desire, on behalf of
themselves and the residents of Orange County, to express to Joyce Pearson their deep
appreciation and gratitude for her service rendered to the County over the past twenty-
two years;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Orange County Board of Commissioners
offers Ms. Pearson its very best wishes for success, happiness, prosperity and good
health in her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be presented to Ms. Pearson and that
the Resolution be spread pon the minutes of this meeting.
