BACKGROUND: On May 11, 2010, the County Commissioners reviewed a proposed schematic design for the Commissioners meeting room in the Link Center and suggested some modifications. Corley Redfoot Zack (CRZ), the project architect, has incorporated Commissioner comments and is prepared to present the options for approval. Plan approval by the County Commissioners on June 10, 2010 will allow the project to be developed commensurate with the following timeline: Demolition would be commenced under a contract issued by the Manager over the summer. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding is available for project components as follows: • Project # 30035 —Link Center Upfit; approximately $520,000 o $425,000 of which will be funded via alternative financing approved by County Commissioners in April 2009; to be sold in FY 2011. • Project # 30018 —HVAC Projects; $90,777 • Project #30019 —ADA Compliance; $65,595 • Project # 30023 — Building Entry and Access Systems; $75,000 Bids reflecting actual costs will be presented to County Commissioners for approval after the summer break. RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends the County Commissioners review and approve the revised schematic design; and authorize staff and the Architect to proceed with construction documents and bidding as outlined herein. 1 1 - -__. --- � � 1 1 • su �• • .. x I.
