PURPOSE: To consider making an appointment to the Orange County Board of Adjustment.
BACKGROUND: Per Section 2.3.1.1 of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance, The Board of
Adjustment consists of five (5) regular members and two (2) alternates. The Ordinance
indicates that a member of the Orange County Planning Board shall serve on the Board of
Adjustment as a regular member. This position was most recently held by Mr. Jeffrey Schmitt,
who is currently ineligible for re- appointment. If appointed, Dr. Larry Wright will be serving his
first full term ending June 30, 2013 as a regular member of the Board of Adjustment with an
initial appointment for a three (3) year term.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making this appointment to the Orange County Board of
Adjustment.

Per Section 2.3.1.1 of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance, The Board of Adjustment consists of five (5) regular
members and two (2) alternates. The Ordinance indicates that a member of the Orange County Planning Board
shall serve on the Board of Adjustment as a regular member. This position was most recently held by Mr. Jeffrey
Schmitt, who is currently ineligible for re- appointment The Planning Board has recommended Mr. Larry Wright
serve on the Board of Adjustment.
Per Section 2.3.1.2 of the Ordinance, the BOCC is required to appoint Mr. Wright to serve as a regular
member Board of Adjustment. This will be an initial appointment for a three (3) year term.

just wanted to update my application and remind the Board of my interest. Also, though
currently reside in the Chapel Hill township, my husband and I now own 6 acres outside
