PURPOSE: To consider one change in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. The County Commissioners have a regular meeting scheduled
for June 29, 2000 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Because of the length of that agenda, the meeting will
begin at 6 p.m. The location remains the same-the Southern Human Services Center in
Chapel Hill.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by changing the beginning -time for the meeting set for June 29, 2000 from
7:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

PUBLIC CHARGE
The Board of Commissioners pledges to the citizens of Orange County its respect. The
Board asks its citizens to conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner, both
with the Board and with fellow citizens. At any time should any member of the Board
or any citizen fail to observe this public charge, the Chair will ask the offending person
to leave the meeting until that individual regains personal control. Should decorum fail
to be restored, the Chair will recess the meeting until such time that a genuine
commitment to this public charge is observed.
