The Board met at the ueual. hour present Commrs. J. Ed Laws, Chairman,
Hen F. Wilson and Collier Cobb, Jr.• The minutes of the regular westing on
July 7 and the adjourned meeting on July 14, Caere read and approved,

Miss Hyare, Home Demonstrat loo Agent submitted her July report with an
expense account of $15.24 Por m¢teri ale used. Report approved and acc ount

The Supt. oP the County Homa reported 9 inmates; 6 white & 3 colored.
On Motion of Commissi over Cobb, duly seconded by Commissioner Wilson,
it Se hereby ordered that the County Home be cloeed Sept. 30, 1941; and the
Supt. of Welfare Ss hereby in struoted to arrange Ppr the care of all of the

Orange County sod the Tax Colleotor is instructed to collect the same.
Upon Motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commis si.oner Cobb, and
unanimously adopted, all members be log present and voting i.n the afPlrmative,
the following appropriation reaolu ti on is adopted:
That Orange County a propriate for tta budget for the fiscal year,
begs nning July 1, 1941, and ending June 30, 1942, the following amounts,
to-wit;
For Gene rei County Fund the cum oP $17,670.00
For Public Health Fund the evm oP 4,500.00

For County Debt Service the sum of 33,327.50

In making this appropriation from the County Finds of $33,902.67 for Welfare

Purposes, St Ss understood that the State Department of Public t9elfsre will
provide from State end Federal Funds the sum of $41,072.50 making a total
oP 574,975.14 available for We lf¢re Purposes in Orange County for the fiscal
year.
The amount of the appropri at!on shown above Por the Salary Fund Ss 521,1,70.00.

ofPl ces and a supplement oP 57,]]2.48 Prom the General Fund, which supplement
is hereby appropriated Paom the Cs neral Fund Sor use in the gal ary Fund.
Zn the above budget appropriatl on the Stem of School Current Expense Fund in
the amount of 527,109 lncludee the amount which will be due by way oP per
oapita to the Chapel Hili Special School Dietrlct, which amount roughly est-
imated will, be approximately 55,000, but in eai3 total anproprSati on St Ss
hereby provided that the sum of 55,779 wl ll b° paid to the Chapel fli11 5peci al
School Dietric t, the excess over andabove the ascertained per caplts due to
said district by law being for the eole and express purpose of aiding said
6pacl el School District Sn the establishment of the teaching of agriculture in
said school. This appropriation 'ce ing justified by the Pact that approximately
one hundred and ei xty high school students living without the limits oP the
Chapel Hill Scecial School District are re oei vi ng nine months schooling at
said Chapel Hill School. This adds t7o nal appropriation Ss made in co nsi deratioi
of the extreme need of Chapel H111 Special School D±strlet and upon the express
understanding that said additional e~ropri ation Ss only for the school ye er
1941-1942 and will not be continued in future years.

there is an additional amount of 535.065.14 representing the proc eels of s
school building bond issue, and which has heretofore been ape cificaliy approp-
riated to the construction of additions et Caldwell School and Aycock School,
and eouipme nt there Pore, after the necessary expenses incurred in the sale of
said Bonds have been paid, and this allotment or approprlati on Ss hereby re-
affirmed and expenditures of the net proceeds of said bond issue will be in
accordance h_rewlth during the current fiscal year.
