PURPOSE: To consider making a new appointment to the Adult Care Home Community
Advisory Committee.
BACKGROUND: The Clerk's office has received a recommendation from the Adult Care Home
Community Advisory Committee for Dr. Mary Fraser. If appointed, Dr. Fraser will be serving a
one-year training term, which will end on 03/31/2010.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making a new appointment to the Adult Care Community Advisory
Committee.

Work Experience:
Prior to moving to Chapel Hill in 1993, I worked for 11 years for the Utah State Division of
Mental Health as a Program Coordinator, Director of Planning and Grants Management
and finally as Deputy Director. Upon moving to Chapel Hill, I decided to work part-time
as a health and human services management consultant and raise my family. In this
capacity I have provided consultation to the NC Division of MH/DD/SAS on numerous
occasions, served as a Project Manager for the NC General Assembly, taught classes
within the UNC School of Social Work in mental health policy and organizational
behavior, and worked on research. projects at the UNC Sheps Center for Health Services
Research in the area of health and disability. My most recent management consulting
contract is with the Central Orange Adult Day Health Center.

I have served on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Mental Health Association
for 12 years, serving as President two times. Most recently, I provided volunteer help at
the Carolina Meadows Retirement Community from Jan -May, 2009.
