HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 19800620 f 32 MINUTES ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JUNE 20, 1980 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special work session on Friday, June 20, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. 4 Present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, and Commissioners 3 Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson, Don Willhoit and Anne Barnes. - The purpose of the meeting was to continue review of the proposed s Orange County budget for fiscal year 1980-81. The board discussed the per capita figure for schools and funds for the following agencies which were not included in the Manager's recommended budget: Elections, Register of Deeds, Energy, Personnel, Mental Health, Libraries, JOCCA, Career Education, RSVP, Commission for • Women, Recreation, Health, Social Services, Day Care, Public Works, . Phillips Project, Wildcat Creek Paving project, Sheaffer House, Soil _ and Water Conservation. The Board recommended additional funding, above the Manager's recommendation,far the following agencies. Career Education - $2,000, RSVP - $818, Health - $10,732, Rape Crisis Center - $8,000, ABD/GED - $3,600, Women's Health Counciling Service - $10,000, Coalition for Battered Women - $4,000. The Board recommended cutting $12,000 from Veterans Office budget and ; i $2,000 from Manager's Office budget. 1 The Board discussed fees for well and septic tank permits and # 1 dental fees recommended by the Board of Health, Family Planning 4 E i i fees and dog fees.
