ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MARCH 21, 1979
The Board of Commissioners and the Carrboro Aldermen met in special session
on Wednesday, March 21, 1979, at 7:3D p.m., iri Room 1D9, of the
Carrboro Town Hall, Carrboro, North Carolina.
Commissianers~present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman,
and Commissioners Norman Gustaveson, Anne Barnes and Don Willhoit.
Commissioners absent: Commissioner fdorman Walker.
Carrboro Aldermen present: Mayor Robert prakeford, and Aldermen
Doug Sharer, Braxton Foushee, Nancy ldhite, Ernie Patterson, John Boone
and Sherwood Ward. Also present were Richard Knight, Town Manager, and
Phil Whitaker, Assistant Town Manager.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss planning (OCPC),
recreation, watershed protection and industry.
The Board took no official action at this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.

The board of Cvntmissioners and the OWASA Board met in-special session
on ldednesday, March 21, 1979, at 12:00 p.m., in the Board Room, of
the Carrboro Town Hall, 'in Carrboro, North Carolina.
Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman,
and Commissioners Anne Bai°nes, Don Willhoit, and Norman Gustaveson.
Commissioners absent: Commissioner Norman Walker.
Members present from 041A5A Board: Ms, Flo Garrett, Chairperson,
and Mr. Braxton Foushee, Mr. Paul Morris, Ms. Betty Sanders, Mr. Ernest
Patterson, Mr. Tom Scharf, ter. Sob Epting and Mr. Chuck Antle.
OhIASA Board requested the meeting to discuss the county's interest
in working with OWASA in finding additional water resources.
Ms. Garrett said OW/',5A would furnish the Commissioners an update
on water resource plans. She also said the 041ASA Board would meet to
discuss specific requests and then report back to the Commissioners.
The Board of Commissioners took no official action at this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned a't 1:35 p.m.
