HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES-2009-075 Extending Water, Sewer & Electric Service Taylor Fish Farms Est Aquaculture Facility~~.5' ~~~ g ©~s ~j9~--- /~/~o~~~oy U-~- ~,~~ NORTH CAROLINA Resolution Approving an Agreement Between Orange County and Taylor Fish Farm Regarding the Extension of Water, Sewer and Electric Services Necessary to ORANGE COUNTY Establish an Aquaculture Facility WHEREAS, pursuant to and in satisfaction of the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 158-7.1, the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, following a public hearing, has determined that if it contracts with Taylor Fish Farm as contemplated by the Agreement, Exhibit A, the taxable property of the County and the business prospects of the County will increase; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Orange County has determined that the Taylor Fish Farm project will result in the creation or maintenance of several jobs in the County at a wage rate that exceed the living wage established by Orange County now and in the future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County: 1. The Board hereby makes the determinations attributed to it in Exhibit A and approves Exhibit Ain substantially the same form as Exhibit A to this Resolution. 2. The Board commits nine thousand four hundred forty-seven dollars ($9,447.00) from the County's Utility Extension Fund as described in Exhibit A toward the incurred costs of Taylor Fish Farm in constructing water, sewer, and electric services to its Aquaculture Facility. 3. Officers and employees of the County are authorized and directed to take such actions and execute and deliver such documents, certificates, undertakings, agreements or other instruments as they, with the advice of counsel, may deem necessary or appropriate to effectuate the contemplated agreement in Exhibit A.
