Memorandum of Agreement
between
United Way of the Greater Triangle
and
Orange County Government
WHEREAS, United Way of the Greater Triangle has set aside $6,000 for a regional homeless
initiative for calendar year 2009.
WHEREAS, United Way of the Greater Triangle is using those funds to fund a Project
Homeless Connect in Wake, Durham, and Orange Counties of North Carolina
WHEREAS, United Way of the Greater Triangle has identified the Orange County Government
as the lead organization responsible for implementing a Project Homeless Connect in Orange
County.
NOW THEREFORE, United Way of the Greater Triangle and the Orange County Government
agree to enter into this contract whereby the Orange County Government will receive $2,000
from United Way of the Greater Triangle for implementing a Project Homeless Connect.
The term of this contract shall begin August 15, 2009 and shall end on December 15, 2009
unless the project is completed, or the contract is cancelled or modified by either party.
In order to accomplish this, United Way of the Greater Triangle will:
1) Make $2,000 available for Orange County Government.
2) Issue reimbursement payment for each of the following deliverables:
a) $500 upon execution of the contract
b) $1,000 upon site and date identification.
c) Remaining $ 500 upon completion of a final report to United Way of the
Greater Triangle.
3) Reserve the right to monitor the program and records for compliance at any time.
4) Host regional coordination meetings with Wake, Durham and Orange Counties
5) .Assist in the public promotion of Wake, Durham, and Orange County's Project
Homeless Connects
6) Will not be responsible for any administrative fee or matching fees required to
achieve the deliverables above.
In order to accomplish this, the Orange County Government will:
1) Host a Project Homeless Connect on October 8, 2009.
2) Display a banner acknowledging United Way of the Greater Triangle as a lead
sponsor
3) Acknowledge the United Way of the Greater Triangle as a sponsor in all promotional
material.
4) Provide United Way of the Greater Triangle with the documentation necessary for
reimbursement
5) Provide United Way of the Greater Triangle with the following data elements
a) Number of homeless individuals attending
Y
b) Number of chronically homeless individuals attending
c) Number and types of services homeless people were enrolled in during the day
6) Work with United Way of the Greater Triangle staff to identify additional measures
of success and disseminate the results to other potential fenders and government
officials.
