Purpose: To recognize the Orange County Cooperative Extension Service 4-H Volumeer Leaders during
National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 1999.
Background: The Orange County Ceater of the North Cazolina Cooperative Extension Service is fortunate to
have such a loyal and dedicated group of volunteers serving the county 4-H youth population.
These volunteers have helped the 4-H youth to acquire.self-esteem ,leadership and
responsibility, and to become accountable for citizenship and community service activities. We
have involved over 588 volunteers directly and non-directly in the county 4-H Program. These
volunteers have committed time, energy, and resources to the development of our future
leaders. During National Volunteer Week, we would like to recognize 112 volunteer leaders
who have been active in delivering program services in 1998.
Recommendation:
The manager recommends that the Boazd approve the attached resolution and
authorize the Chair to sign.
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
FOR
ORANGE COUNTY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE VOLUNTEERS
4H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, has been a loyal and dedicated volumeer for the
Orange County Cooperative Extension Service youth development
program and
W~~AS, has been dedicated to serving the youth of Orange
County, in helping young persons to acquire self-esteem, leadership, and
responsibility as well as to become accoumable for citizenship and
community service activities, and
WHEREAS, has committed time and energy to the Orange County
youth development program through dedicated work on numerous
committees and workshops on the local, district and state levels, and
WHEREAS, has been active in ensuring the development of our
future productive adult citizens through his/her work with the Orange
County 4-H youth development program, and
WHEREAS, has provided continued support and assistance to
Cooperative Extension Service and the Orange County youth population.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of
Commissioners recognizes and bestows gratitude to for
his/her many years of commitmeirt, cooperation and collaborative services to the youth of
Orange County through the Cooperative Extension Service 4-H youth development
program.
