PURPOSE: To broaden the representation on the Skills Development Center Advisory
Committee
BACKGROUND: The Skills Development Center Advisory Committee has 11 members.
The Committee recommends to increase the membership by two people. One would be
designated as a representative from the business sector and one would be designated for the
EDC Director. The Committee finds that it needs the expertise of a business person. The
Committee also feels that the EDC Director should serve on this Committee since Challenge
Ten of the Orange County Economic Development Strategic Plan speaks to skill development
and re-training opportunities for Orange County citizens.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATON(S): Approve increasing the number of members on the Skills
Development Center Advisory Committee by two with one member representing business and
the other designated for the EDC Director.
