PURPOSE: To establish the date of a public hearing to receive citizen comments about the County
Manager's Recommended 1999-2009 Capital Investment Plan (CIP).
BACKGROUND: At the April 13, 1999 work session of the Orange County Board of
Commissioners, the County Manger will present the County's Recommended 1999-2009 Capital
Investment Plan. Although a hearing is not required by state statute, the Board may wish to
consider using a portion of the regular meeting on Apri120, 1999 to conduct a public hearing on this
subject.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact from setting the public hearing date.
Citizen comments received at the public hearing will be considered during the Board's review of the
ten year capital plan during April and May, 1999.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board establish a public hearing
on the County's ten-year Capital Investment Plan for Tuesday, Apri120, 1999, at 7:30 pm in the
Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill.
