Purpose: To recognize the Orange County Cooperative Extension Service 4-H Volunteer Leaders during
National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 1999.
Background: The Orange County Center of the North Cazolina Cooperative Extension Service is fortunate to
have such a loyal and dedicated group of volunteers serving the county 4-H youth population.
These volunteers have helped the 4-H youth to acquire self-esteem ,leadership and
responsibility, and to become accountable for citizenship and community service activities. We
have involved aver 588 volunteers directly and non-directly in the county 4-H Program. These
volunteers have committed time, energy, and resources to the development of our future
leaders. During National Volunteer Week, we would like to recognize 112 volunteer leaders
who have been active in delivering program services in 1998.
Recommendation: The manager recommends that the Boazd recognize and disseminate a plaque,
resolution and restaurant gift certificate to 4-H volunteers who attend the 4-20-99
meeting.
