HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 19760601MzNn~Es ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Tuesday, June 1, 1976 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met with the Orange County Planning Board and Planning Staff on Tuesday, June 1, 1976, at 7:30 p.m., in the Superior Courtroom of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, N. C. for the regular Public Hearing. All members of the Board of Commissioners were present. Members from the Orange County Planning Board present were Chairman Charles Johnston, Robert Bonar, T4s. Jean Anderson and Marilyn Riddle. 443 Chairman Garrett called the meeting to order and then turned the meeting over to tie Chairman of the Planning Board, who presided. ~~~0.~ Flora R. MINUTES ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF C®MMI552ONERS Thursday, June 3, 1976 The Orange Counnty Board of Commissioners met in special session an Thrusday, June 3, 1976, at 7:3p p.m., in the Superior Courtroom at the Courthouse in Hillsborough. Members of the Board present were Chairman Flora Garrett, Commis- sioner Norman Gustaveson, Jan Pinney, Norman Walker and Richard Whitted. Others present were S. M. Gattis, County Administrator; Neal Evans, Finance Director, and Betty June Hayes, Clerk to the Board. Members of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Board present were Chairman Norman Weatherly, members James Riddle, Ken Howard, Mary Scroggs, Edwin Caldwell, Phyllis Sockwell, Sam Holton, Dr. Robert Hanes, Superintendent; and Dr. Charles Rivers, Assistant Superintendent. Members of the Orange County School Board present were Chairman Roland Scott, members Emma Sue Loftin, Oscar Compton, Larry Sturdivant, H. G. Coleman, George Williams, Superintendent and A. C. Crowder and Mabel Gordon, Assistant Superintendents. Chairman Garrett inquired if the Orange County School Board wished to make an appointment to the Orange County ABC Board, prior to other discussion. Upon motion of Commissioner Pinney, seconded by School Board member Loftin, Tom Bacon was nominated as a memeber of the ABC Board. School Board member Compton nominated G. B. Pope, Jr. and Roland Y Scott, Chairman of the School Board, moved that the nomination be closed. Chairman Garrett called for a vote on Commissiener Pinney's motion of Tom Bacon. Commissioner Garrett, Gustaveson, Pinney and Whitted voted aye. School Board members Scott and Loftin voted aye. Chairman Garrett called for the vote on School Board member Compton's motion. Commissioner Walker voted aye.
